Prior to joining MUSC, Daniel was an undergraduate researcher working under Dr. Heidi Anderson. There, he utilized AI cell-counting software to quantify glycosome populations in Trypanosoma brucei, helping to expand machine learning applications in microscopy.
Outside the lab, Daniel is actively pursuing a future career in pediatrics. He has served as a dedicated volunteer and lead counselor for children with chronic medical conditions at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital, as well as a clinical volunteer at the Free Medical Clinic in Columbia.
